Simple projects that need repeat photos

A picture can become part of a self-portrait collage, a family tree activity, a group memory display or a homemade matching game. Sometimes you need just one photograph; other times you need multiple copies of it so children can cut, glue or arrange them.

Foldit creates a printable sheet containing the same image in every cell. That makes it a good fit for repeated cutouts, but not for a worksheet that needs several different pictures or text labels.

Make a child-friendly cutting sheet

  1. Choose a clear image, such as a pet, favorite toy or family photo, that will still make sense at a reduced size.
  2. Open Foldit and upload it.
  3. Set paper to A4, layout to 3 × 3, and fit mode to Fit whole.
  4. Try 6 mm spacing and 10 mm margins. Enable borders if cutting guides would help.
  5. Print the PDF at actual size, then cut out the pictures yourself or help children use age-appropriate scissors.
For photos of childrenCheck permission before printing, displaying or giving out someone else’s child’s photo. The app processes images only in the browser, but printed copies are physical items that can be shared.

Craft ideas to try

A memory board

Give each child one picture for a class memory board, or use the repeated images to mark related memories on a single poster.

A simple matching activity

Cut out pairs of the same picture and place them face down. For a full matching game with different pairs, generate a separate sheet for each different photo.

A personal collage

Combine the photo cutouts with drawings, stickers, colored paper and handwriting. Using the same image more than once can create a repeating pattern without complicated software.

Make printing predictable

Some school printers cannot print right to the edge of the paper, so keep a margin. If colors matter, test one page before printing a whole activity. Choose a slightly sturdier paper if the cutouts will be handled repeatedly, and keep a spare sheet for replacements.
